Director Martin Scorsese's "Irishman" has become the opening film for the 2019 New York Film Festival. The movie will premiere on September 27.
In an official statement, Scorsese said he was honored to have his picture opened by the New York Film Festival this year: “I have always been fascinated by the bold selection of films that the festival presents to the audience year after year. I am grateful for the opportunity to present my new work in New York with my wonderful team and actors”.
